Mrs. Fran Young (nee Marshall) born in Saint John, N.B. to Conrad Lewis and Mary Dorothy (Dunham) Marshall. She attended Saint John High School. Loving wife of Robert Young of Elliot Lake, mother to Greg, Melissa Young-Goulding (Nick), and grandmother to Hannah and Callum. She is survived by her sisters Joan Kessluk (Roy), Eleanore Visosky (Alex) and was predeceased by her parents. Fran was a member of the Red Hats, and the Penokean Hills Field Naturalists Club and enjoyed her walks through Sheriff Creek Sanctuary. She also was the Treasurer for the Elliot Lake Computer Club. After moving from New Brunswick in the midsixties, she worked for many Banks, including the BMO, Scotia and TD. This is where she met husband Bob and married in 1973 in Toronto. Her various positions in the banks were Loans & Securities Officer, teller & Head Teller, finishing her career here in Elliot Lake, where retirement brought her family in 1994. Her symptoms of Alzheimer’s were first noticed in 2016. She passed away after a two week stay at St. Joseph’s General Hospital on Remembrance Day. The family would like to thank the Emergency, ICU and 3rd floor Medical & Management Staff. Cremation and Funeral Service entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services. Donations to the St. Joseph’s Hospital CAT Scan Fund or to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. A Memorial-Celebration of Life service will be held on June 20, 2020, here in Elliot Lake, location to be announced at a later date.
