We are saddened to announce the passing of Helen Lillian Sproule (nee Montgomery) at home at the age of 82 on November 4th, 2022. Beloved wife of Robert Treffle (Bob) Sproule of Elliot Lake. During their 64 year marriage they had two children. Janis Lee Wilson (Robert Bryson) of Elliot Lake and Robert Troy Sproule (late Joanne Coulis) of Azilda. Cherished Grandmother of Michael Robert Wilson, Matthew Bryson Wilson (Melissa Young), both of Elliot Lake and Alanna Janis Wilson (Ryan Kearney) of Capreol and Great Grandmother of Brooklynn Helen Wilson.
She was born in Sudbury to parents Robert Mitchell Montgomery and Lillian (nee Bell) Montgomery, both predeceased. The family moved to Elliot Lake in 1978, where she resided until her death. Helen and Bob enjoyed many of their retirement years at their cottage on LaCloche Lake in Massey, and many winters in the Southern US. Helen is also survived by sister Vera Montgomery of Toronto and predeceased by sister Cora Mae Montgomery. Special aunt to Anne Gaskin (Jim Duncan) of Smith Falls.
Cremation has taken place. There will be private family gathering and celebration of life at a future date.
