October 24, 1936 – June 25, 2023

With heavy hearts and great sorrow, the family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of Anastasia while at St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Elliot Lake, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of Leslie of 66 years. Loving mother of Debbie (late Alex) and son Brian. Devoted Grandmother of Brandi (Randy), Christopher (Emma), Adam and Victor (Jessica). Amazing Great Grandmother of Jakob, Markus, Lukas, Parker, Beau, Jackson, Scotia and Arlo. Special Aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law of Shirley Smith (late Dick), Elinor Pierre (late Bob) and the late Ken Muldoon (late Laura). Will be deeply missed by her dear friends Jean Edwards and Geno Solomon (Peggy). Predeceased by her parents Alfonse and Elizabeth Dumas as well as siblings Cyril, Lawrence, Lorraine, Vincent, Lois, Velma, Peter, Adrian, Patrick and Norma.

Stasia was born in Whitney and spent her childhood in Sudbury. After meeting and marrying Leslie, they moved to Spanish where together they raised their family.

Stasia had an abundance of love which she freely gave to anyone she encountered. She was naturally gifted in developing relationships which allowed her to impact the lives of many. She was a very dedicated school bus driver having driven for both Solomon Bus Lines and A.J. Bus Lines for 44 years collectively.

Stasia was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandma and great grandma, cherished auntie, trusted friend and neighbour…. we will forever miss her warmth and authenticity.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and Sister Chi Chi at St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake for the warmth and care that she received. They also want to thank the NSHN-Blind River volunteer drivers, Bayshore nurses and PSWs for their compassion and kindness.

Donations can be made to the NSHN-Auxiliary Blind River Site.

Friends and family are invited for interment and graveside service at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Spanish beginning at 10am on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Interment will be followed by a celebration of Stasia’s life between 11am and 2pm at the Spanish Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 576, 5 Brennan Harbour Road.
