August 10, 1933 - April 16, 2021
On Friday April 16th, 2021 our beautiful Mother Betty Anne Miron gained her wings and was reunited with her beloved husband Clare. She passed away peacefully at Golden Birches Terrace with her daughter Paula and daughter-in-law Louise by her side.
Elizabeth Anne Roque, was born August 10, 1933 in Sudbury, Ontario to Mary and George Roque. She was a loving mother to Paula Summers (Bob), Martine Curry (Cliff), Terry Miron (Louise), Aime Therrien (Debbra) and Rob Vincent (Brandy). Dear sister of Rosemary Letarte and Elaine Nyman (George). A caring and thoughtful Nanny to her grandchildren; Jaime Schleich (Tim), Katie Maguire (Basho), Bobby Summers, Matthew Curry (Colleen), Jennifer Jefferson (Shawn), Danielle Bakhuis (Devyn), Nicole Miron (SteveAudet), Jennifer Ondrich, Caitlynne Therrien (Jeff France), Daniel Therrien and Natasha, Robert, Skylar, Brandy, Trebor and Jaxon Vincent and great grand-children; Owen, Jake, Elayna and Caitlin, Ava and Brynn, Quinn and Claire, Hayden, Teagan and Oliver, Colton and Cara.
Betty Ann was a life time resident of Blind River where she and Clare raised their family. They also opened their home as foster parents for over 20 years, where Betty Anne was a loving mother to the many children who passed through her doors over those years. Many will remember Betty Anne from the Cottage Country Market where she created lasting friendships with a lot of the customers that came in, including the summer residents who came to town each year. Betty Anne was a competitive chess and horseshoe player, but she also loved creating many beautiful things over the years. Some of her passions included ceramics, bunka and porcelain dolls. She would often be found covered in ceramic dust or surrounded by paints, bunka or dresses for her dolls. Betty Ann loved to share her knowledge of her crafts and she hosted classes for those who were interested. Her grandchildren have fond memories of making and painting ceramic pieces with her and of the fun times they had spending summers at camp on Bearhead Lake. She will be remembered for her kindness and caring nature. Betty Anne never had a bad word to say about anyone. She had a biggest soft spot for children (especially her grandchildren) and could be often found sneaking sweets or ice cream to them.
Betty Anne has been cremated as per her wishes. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date when we can all gather safely. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Shore Health Network/Golden Birches or to a charity of your choice.
A special thanks to all Staff of Golden Birches who were so kind and caring to Mom during her stay there. She was a special lady who never complained and always had a smile on her face. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services in Elliot Lake.
