With heartbreak we announce the unexpected passing of my beautiful mother and best friend Kathleen Leppard, at Sault Area Hospital on November 10th, 2022, with her daughter holding her hand.
Cherished mother of Carla (Darren). Loving Nana of the late Angel, late Tia, Shyla, and Skyer and loving Great Nana of nine.
Predeceased by her parents Walter and Mary Jane Peiffer. Sister of the late Chum, Rick (Patti), Mary Ann, Betty, late Scott, and Robbie (Beth). She was an aunt and Great Aunt to many including Landon who was and always will be her little buddy.
Kathy will be especially missed by her Aunt Joy who was as close as a sister, her best friend for 40 years, Jackie, her four cats and dog Clifford.
Born in Sault Ste. Marie on February 19th, 1958, she was the third child and first daughter of the seven Peiffer siblings. She was like a mother or a boss depending which sibling you asked; all of whom she loved dearly.
In the late 1970s She met Gerald Corbett, fell in love with, married and had a daughter Carla. Gerald unexpectedly and tragically passed in 1983. Suddenly she became a single parent, trying to figure out how to raise her daughter alone. For the next 15 years it would be just the two of them and they would have a mother/daughter bond like no other. Kathy loved being a mother and was loving, caring and fun yet also strict as she could run a bootcamp by herself.
In 2000 she met Chris Leppard and they fell in love and were married until his death in 2017.
You are my hero mom and I miss you so much already.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
