December 6, 1946 – December 30, 2022

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Richard Laurin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend to many. “Cupcake” to his wife Colleen. Daddy to Nickey (Shawn) and Dickey (Lisa). Loving grandfather to Justin, Kent (Lauren), Kaitlyn (Kyle), Aaron, Mitchell, Brooke and Jessica and great grandfather of Eva, Brielle and Henry. Big brother to Yolande. Dear uncle to Angel and Michael and many more. He will be sadly missed by many dear friends and his Big Basswood family.

Richard worked for many years at Denison Mine in Elliot Lake and Vale in Sudbury as a millwright. He was a dedicated community volunteer and Lions Club member. He loved fishing, working on special projects at home and spending time with his family on the lake. He was always there to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbours.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Blois and the wonderful health care team at NSHN-Thessalon for their care and support and our close personal friends and family for being there when we needed them.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Iron Bridge Lions Club, 10 Clarissa Street, on Saturday, January 14, 2023 beginning at 12 noon.
