It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ted on his 87th Birthday at Hõpital Montfort Ottawa with his family close by. Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend to anyone who crossed paths with him. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Margaret Hyndman and Stepmother Cora.

Survived by his Wife of 64 years, Betty (Hannah) , his 3 children Craig, Andrea ( Satnam), Michael (Lenore) and their 4 children Tyler, Aiden, Conner and Hannah,

Stepbrother Arthur (Elizabeth) Appleton.

Ted(Badge#1801) was a proud member and 30 year veteran of the Ontario Provincial Police serving from September 1957 -September 1987. His whole career was spent in Elliot Lake via a very short stopover in Sault Ste Marie. Right from the very beginning his involvement in Community service exceeded far beyond the boundaries of police work, volunteering for many local organizations such as Special Olympics, Terry Fox Run, Teen Town program, and many others that required his time. A respected member of the Knights of Columbus Elliot Lake. Whether it was basketball, hockey, judo, both youth and adult community programs or sports teams, fundraising and or coordinating any or all, Ted was there.

To say he loved the community of Elliot Lake is an understatement. Ted was community and community was Ted. A leader in every sense of the word. He always put families and community's needs far ahead of his own.

He had a smile that would light up the darkest of spaces, a personality second to none and if you had the pleasure of encountering either, you knew you were in good hands.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date in Elliot Lake and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to

Elliot Lake Intermediate School
