Kenneth Gagnon

Succumbed peacefully to cancer at the North Shore Health Network in Blind River surrounded by family on December 21st, 2018.  He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 50 years Germaine, daughters Monique (D.A.),and Nicole (Johnny), his amazing grandchildren who knew him as Pere - Amber (Brandon), Natasha (Beau), Justice (Chloe), Mhiingan, Charlee, Joey and Paul...  “be good!”  His many loving nieces and nephews, and special sister-in-law Rita (Wally).   Also his four legged little buddy Corky.  Ken was born September 9th, 1942 to the late Frank and Edna (Pilon) of Spanish, ON.  He was one of 9 children.  Survived by Don (Donna), Jackie (Jack), Theresa (Bob), Cecile and Michael. Predeceased by Gerry (Jackie), Ferdie (Marlene), and Nancy (Leo).  He loved to be surrounded by family and friends.  When he was up to it you could catch him cruising the streets on his ATV or scooter.  He loved to tinker and lend a hand to help his neighbours if he could.  For all who took the time to visit and share stories with Ken during his time at NSHN – we thank you.  The laughter and tears equalled love.  So much love.  Dr. Barnes – your friendship and care is truly appreciated.  To all the doctors, nurses and staff at NSHN, we can’t thank you enough for your compassion and thoughtfulness.  And to everyone for their messages of love and support.  We could not have gotten through this without your support.  Cremation has taken place.  Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.  In the meantime, Ken would want us all to enjoy Christmas with family and friends.  Raise a glass or cold beer and cheer in the New Year.  Donations gratefully appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society or NSHN Foundation.  Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home, Blind River, Ontario.
