It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandma and aunt on October 16, 2023 in Elliot Lake, Ontario with family by her side.
Pre-deceased by her parents John & Pearl MacDonald and son Mason MacDonald, Lily is survived by her loving husband Derrek of 32 years and daughter Taija (Zach Fritsch).
Proud and devoted grandma to Emmylou and Everleigh, Lily was a loving sister to Sharron (Harry), Cathy, Judy, Eileen (Brian) and Debbie.
She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Lily (Lips) will be remembered for her infectious laughter and ability to make those around her smile. She was a loyal and trusted friend to many. Lily was devoted to her career as a hairdresser and could often be found working at her shop. Lily’s greatest joy was her granddaughters, as her family was her greatest accomplishment.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care and ensuring Lily was comfortable in her final days. A private celebration of life will be held for family at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the St. Joseph Foundation would be appreciated.
