Michael Arthur Constantineau, 76, of Elliot Lake, Ontario, passed away peacefully in hospital at 4 am on December 10, 2020.
He was the dear father of Rick Goebel (Kim) and Cory Goebel (deceased) of London, ON and the grandfather of Rachelle, Erika and Shauna Goebel.
Michael was the loving son of Lawrence Constantineau and Marion Fisher Constantineau (both deceased) of Espanola, He was the dear brother of Carson (Vanda) of Calgary, Lois Brisbois of Horseshoe Valley, Linda Stinson of Espanola (deceased) and Dianne Constantineau (Bill McLean) of Little Current, ON.
Michael graduated from Laurentian University in Sudbury, ON, and pursued a career in Education. He worked across Northern Canada as an Elementary teacher and then as a Principal, retiring in 2007 from Gogama Public School.
His retirement years were spent at his cottage on Manitoulin Island, before he moved to Elliot Lake. For many decades Michael pursued various Spiritual studies and enjoyed sharing in workshops with family and friends. He volunteered in Hospice, sang for residents in area Nursing Homes and in 2017, won the Elliot Lake Senior Citizen of the Year Award.
Michael was very grateful for the support of his friend, Anne Stalker, over the past few years. His family are very appreciative of the caring attention given by Palliative Care nurse, Barry Blake, during Michael's final hours. Arrangements entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
Cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will happen later.
