A long-time resident of Iron Bridge, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023, 9 days into her 95th year.  Beloved wife of 63 years of the late Charles Raymond Myrle Brown. Dearest Mother of Gordon Merle Brown. Daughter of the late Hugh Edward Montgomery and Mary Jane Reed. Daughter-in-law of the late Robert Harvey Brown and Mabel Margaret Marshall.

Survived by her sister Marjorie Bell and by brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, Laurian Montgomery, Joyce Mills, Joan Currie, Keith Brown, Jean Warnock (Ivan), Eldon Brown (Diane), June Cameron (Dale) and Linda Lamorie (Clifford). Predeceased by sisters and brothers Marie Dunn (Arthur), Elwood Montgomery (Violet), Bella McAulay (Orman) and Melvin Montgomery.

Also predeceased by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Merton Bell, Elmer Mills, Glen Currie, Bob Brown (Leila), Ken Brown (Helen and Irene) and Lorraine Brown. Beloved friend of all and cherished Auntie to her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Especially supportive to her were Jim and Marie-Anne Brown. Honorary great grandmother to Martin and Sonja Mathes and family in Austria.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mary Shamas and the staff of the North Shore Health Network (NSHN-Blind River) and Golden Birches Terrace. Special thanks also to Janna Trivers, Esther Rozendal, Annette Berry, Mary Ellen Mitchell, Wayne Beharriell and Charlie Greer for their friendship and care.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, between 7pm and 9pm at Beggs Funeral Home, 175 Main Street, Thessalon. A second visitation will be held at Bellingham United Church, Hwy 554, Iron Bridge on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, beginning at 12pm until time of funeral service at 1pm with Reverend Lawrence Muvunzi and Jane Graham officiating.

Interment at Bellingham Cemetery. Light luncheon to follow at the Kynoch Hall.
