June 26, 1948 – January 13, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Loving mother of Mary Chiblow, Gerald Bobiwash (Jen), late Gaye Dawn, late Vance and Beverly Griffin. Grandmother of Erica, late Ryan, Sierra, Austin, Mason and Tyler and great grandmother of many. Fondly remembered by her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, along with the Mississauga First Nation and Blind River communities.
Ruth was instrumental in implementing the Mississauga Women’s Shelter and continued to serve and work there for over 20 years. She was active in her community and the North Shore area, having served on numerous committees for many years. She was well respected for her devotion and strong commitment to improving relationships, resources and community along the North Shore.
We will always remember our mother for her love, strength, guidance and infectious laugh.
The family wishes to thank the community for their support, well wishes and kindness. Thank you also to the staff at NSHN-Blind River for their compassion and understanding.
Family and friends are invited to visit MFN Sports Complex, Park Road, MFN on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 beginning at 10am until time of funeral service at 3pm Cremation to follow. Those attending are invited to feast immediately after services.
