Passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Elsie for 62 years. Loving father of Joanne (Mike Clark), Jeff (Marnie Yourchuk), Blake and Jennifer (Reg Carter). Proud grandfather of Joey Morningstar, Breanna Boyer, Gimaa Brent Bissaillion, Kasey Bissaillion, Summer Bissaillion, Kayla Peltier and twins Emily and Reese Peltier. Great grandfather of Lila Raposo. Survived by his loving sister Irene Makadaban (late Fred) and sister in laws Leona Boyer (Larry) and Isabelle Meawasige (Blaine). Deeply missed by many relations, friends and fellow artisans from the Pow Wow Trail and across Turtle Island.

Romeo was an accomplished and well-respected hockey and baseball player known for his speed and fearlessness both on the ice and the field.

He enjoyed sewing traditional leather goods such as moccasins, mitts, jackets, vests and mukluks. He and his loving wife Elsie created lifelong friendships travelling across Turtle Island.

He loved the outdoors and his garden.

Romeo was known as a jokester to family and friends. He possessed a magnetic charisma that people naturally gravitated towards. We will forever miss his sense of humour, his smile and his laugh.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Algoma Manor and nurse Jules McGuire from NSHN-Blind River.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Serpent River First Nation Community Hall, 195 Village Road East, SRFN beginning at 9am on Thursday, June 8, 2023, until time of service at 11am on Friday, June 9, 2023, with interment at SRFN Cemetery. Feast to follow.
