Catherine passed away peacefully in her home with her beloved husband George of 50 years by her side. Deeply loved wife of George Ball. Will be dearly missed by her 4 children Michael (Nicole), Christopher (Rushelle), Adam (Krista) and Michelle (Shawn). Grandma of Aquilla, Ethan, Anna, Falcon, Cody, Dhalia, Trystan, Jace, Riley, Raven and Maylyn and great grandma of a few. Daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Wood and sister of the late Tammy Curry (Keith). Loving sister of George Wood (Dianne), Sandra Wood, Debbie Miller (Larry), Tim Wood and Dawn Niblock (Brent) and sister-in-law Robin Ball (Grant) and Gerald Ball. Catherine will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and relatives.
Catherine was a chef by passion working at several local restaurants, resorts and nursing and residential homes. She touched the lives of many including her family, friends, co-workers and residents. She encouraged people to stand up for themselves and be who they are. She was always willing to help anyone. She loved to cook and bake with her grandchildren. Despite some tough times she always managed to care for her family making great tasting meals out of nothing. We will miss her sassiness and quirky ways of making us smile.
The family wishes to thank Health Sciences North and staff and the many PSW’s who helped care for Catherine. They also want to thank their neighbours Kim and Dave for their help.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
