October 13, 1949 – November 8, 2020
We are broken-hearted to announce the sudden passing of Larry while at the NSHN-Thessalon with his loving wife by his side. Beloved husband and best friend of Elaine Sweet. Adored father of Candace, his “Baby”, Charlie, Shawna, Monique, Ron and Chris (Trina). Grandfather of Katelyn (Ty), Karter, Jase and Nicholas and great grandfather of Ryder and Kane. Brother of Judy Lambe (Bob) and Debbie Atkinson (Patrice Bard). Uncle of Nathan Whitfield, Ryan and Justin. He was predeceased by his parents Gert and Cork Atkinson. He will be fondly remembered by the Marin, Bizier, Baron, Chislom and MacDonald families and their families.
Larry was an honest, caring and compassionate man who had an adventurous spirit. In his younger days he rode a Harley. He loved fishing Lake Huron in his tugboat “Toby”. He also enjoyed fishing in remote locations that required him to fly in. Larry was a real jokester who loved to play pranks, he had a great sense of humour. He loved to cook, eat and control the TV remote.
The family wishes to thank the EMT’s, the nurses at NSHN-Thessalon and Dr. Muller for their professionalism and compassion. They also want to thank their family and their many friends and neighbours for their ongoing support during these difficult times.
A celebration of Larry’s life will take place at a later date.
