WHL Roundup: Ice freeze out Blades for ninth straight win, Royals edge Rockets

SASKATOON — The Winnipeg Ice slipped past their opposition once again Wednesday, topping the Saskatoon Blades 4-2 in Western Hockey League action.

Jack Finley, Jakin Smallwood, Chase Wheatcroft and Nolan Orzeck all scored for the Ice (45-9-5), who stretched their win streak to nine straight. Carson Lambos notched a pair of assists.

The Blades (32-22-4) got goals from Tyler Parr and Tristen Robins. 

Daniel Hauser tallied 16 saves for Winnipeg and Saskatoon's Nolan Maier stopped 25-of-28 shots.

ROYALS 4 ROCKETS 3

VICTORIA — Tanner Scott assisted on every Victoria (21-34-6) goal as the Royals won their fourth straight. Kelowna (34-18-6) dropped its sixth in a row, despite outshooting the home side 39-31.
