Canada moves up leaderboard at world amateur women's team golf championship

MAYNOOTH, Ireland — Canada is in contention for a top-10 finish after another solid day at the world amateur women's team golf championship.

Jaclyn Lee of Calgary, Naomi Ko of Victoria and Maddie Szeryk of London, Ont., combined to shoot 1 under on Friday (only the top two scores count), pushing Canada into a tie for 12th heading into the fourth and final round.

Canada was tied for 39th after the first round and tied for 23rd after the second round.

Szeryk carded a 1-under 71 in the third round, Lee shot 72 and Ko settled for 75.

Canada is 2 over for the tournament. The United States leads at 19 under.

Individually, Lee is the top Canadian, tied for 16th at even par. Ayean Cho of South Korea leads at 14 under.
