One lucky winner took home an ultimate camping prize package - valued at $1,448. Congratulations to Mary Van Kooten!

The North Shore Cruisers Car Club is a local not-for-profit organization that funds two local charities, the sick kids' fund and persons with disabilities fund and proceeds from the draw will support these charities.

“Dedicated to community service and promoting the automotive hobby,” is the club's motto.

Funds generated from fundraisers go directly back to families who need financial assistance to get to Sick Kids Hospital and purchase medical equipment.

Jessie Hennessey, fundraising coordinator for the North Shore Cruisers, said she is always beyond thankful for the generosity of our community.

Hennessey says that without the financial support from these fundraisers they would not be able to continue to help families with their Sick Kids Fund.

The Cruisers would also like to thank many local businesses for their ongoing support of their fundraising efforts.

The Ultimate Camping prize pack included donations from these community sponsors: Canadian Tire, The Elliot Lake Trading Post, Swiss Chalet, Northern Photography, Adventure North and The General Outdoor Store.

The North Shore Cruisers ask everyone to follow their Facebook page for upcoming fundraisers and also for information about joining their club.

Upcoming fundraisers for the charity will include a barbecue raffle, a fall food and fuel raffle, catch the ace and a 50/50 draw at the North Shore Challenge Drag races scheduled for July 15-17.
