A new YMCA summer day camp location will be open this summer in Elliot Lake, the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario says.
The day camp will run at Collins Hall, 120 Hillside Dr. N., and feature sports, outdoor living skills, arts and crafts, and leadership programs, the city said in a news release.
“The City of Elliot Lake is thrilled to announce a partnership this summer with the Sudbury YMCA to provide a children’s day camp," said Andrew Wannan, acting mayor.
"We believe this is going to be a great collaboration for the community being that it will provide an additional resource for childcare throughout the summer months. It will also be a great opportunity for the youth to experience YMCA programming.”
Camps cost $150 per week. Staffing opportunities are available.
The 'Y' will be hosting a Camp Hiring Day and Open House on Thursday, May 11, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Collins Hall for those interested in learning more about this new camp.

"By offering a new day camp program, as well as leadership opportunities, we can build on that connection and offer a quality recreational camp in a fun and safe environment.”
