Although the Day Of Mourning ceremony scheduled for today was postponed, Mayor Dan Marchisella and Councilor Ed Pearce, on behalf of the City, placed a wreath at the Miners’ Memorial in memory of those who have lost their lives due to workplace related disease.
Names that will be memorialized on the wall in 2021 include:
• James (Jim) Hobbs
• Aimo (Moe) Salo
• Oswald Hajek
• Lenard Alexander McKay
• Wayne Drysdale Sr.
• Richard Dumas
Please take a moment to remember all of those we have lost.
A full ceremony will be rescheduled once lockdown orders have been lifted.
