The Witches Dance will soon take place in Blind River.

Council gave the event its approval after receiving a letter from organizer Kristy Blanchet.

“Hello, my name is Kristy Blanchet and I am the head witch – I mean coordinator – of the fabulous Witches Dance,” she said. “This will be the fifth year doing this dance.”

“This year we are looking to see if once again (council will) close Woodward Avenue (main street) off to vehicles starting on Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. and reopen the street again at 3 p.m.”

“We are looking at hosting a small event with pop ups, games and a chili contest for the public,” she added, asking the town to provide street blocks to mark off the area.

Council approved the request.
