Due to poor weather conditions, all waste sites in Huron Shores are closed today, January 7, 2019.
Blind River council meeting and a public meeting on recreational cannabis use have been postponed. Council was scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. with the public meeting set for 6 p.m. at the town office this evening (Jan. 7). Both meetings have been rescheduled to Tuesday, Jan. 8 (tomorrow), same times and same locations.
THRIVE Offices in Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa and Elliot Lake will be closing effective 2:30 p.m. today.
Please be advised that the offices of the Children’s Aid Society of Algoma will be closing today at noon. This includes the offices in Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa, Blind River and Elliot Lake. Should you need to report the abuse, neglect or maltreatment of a child, please call 1-888-414- 3571 or 705-949-0162 and make the report to our on-call services.
Algoma Family Services offices located at 205 McNabb St. and 875 Queen St. in Sault Ste. Marie as well as the district offices in Elliot Lake and Wawa will be closing at noon on Monday, Jan. 7 due to the winter storm. The office will re-open Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 8:30 a.m., weather permitting. Any updates will be posted on the Algoma Family Services Facebook page.
