Welcome to your new source for Elliot Lake news!

Village Media is happy to announce the launch of ElliotLakeToday.com, the latest member of our growing network of community news sites.

What can you expect? The latest local news on your desktop, tablet and smartphone, along with obituaries, weather, and online flyers. And, from the start we also offer our business directory and classified ads.

Elliot Lake may be the smallest community Village Media serves, but we are excited to say we have already received a very big (and very warm) welcome from the community.

“Village Media is a born-digital news network, with sites across Ontario. We've been embraced by our communities and found success because we focus on local. We love telling your stories, we care about our neighbours, and we want to see our communities succeed,” said Jeff Elgie, president and CEO of Village Media. “We have received a very warm welcome from the city and from many Elliot Lake businesses and organizations. We feel like a part of Elliot Lake already.”

We are proud to support events and charities in all of our communities and Village Media was the presenting sponsor for this year’s Arts on the Trail.

And starting today, we’ll be celebrating our launch with 20 days of giveaways.

Many of you who already go to SooToday.com and Sudbury.com for news from the region will find ElliotLakeToday.com familiar.

ElliotLakeToday is part of the same Village Media network, one of the largest in the province with significant reach across northern Ontario.

Scroll down our news feed and you’ll see multimedia journalist Melanie Farenzena has already been hard at work. You can expect breaking news, features, profiles, new business openings and everything in between.

Village Media’s launch of ElliotLakeToday.com was assisted by Launch Sponsor, the Algoma District School Board.
