Water service is being shut off for customers located from 2 to 6 on Gatenby Place and from 16-31 Hart Road because a watermain in the area has broken, says Elliot Lake Manager of Public Works, Terry Gillngham, in a release.
It was shut off around 12:45 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 24, to facilitate repairs to the main.
Gillingham reminded people at those addresses to not try to use water until repairs to the main are complete and the water flow is restored.
Also, he said, water pressure may be reduced and there may be some water discolouration temporarily once water flow is restored.
"Please run your cold water taps for a minimum of 20 minutes before using any appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers to clear any possible water discolouration," he added. "Do not attempt to use any hot water until your cold water is clear as it may cause damage to your hot water tank."
