The City of Elliot Lake would like to advise that there will be a water main flushing taking place on Wednesday March 6, 2024 at 8:00 am and will affect Stevens Rd and surrounding area. Flushing occasionally takes place after watermain repairs and will only be a light flush.
Flushing the water main improves the water quality by removing sediments that may build up over time. This maintenance work may result in temporary discolouration of the water, reduced pressure, as well as interruptions in service. If you encounter discoloration, remove aerators if possible and run the cold water until the discolouration clears.
During this time, we also ask that you avoid the use of any hot water during the flushing period as damage may be caused to your hot water tank, and avoid doing any laundry to prevent the staining of clothing.
