Walden P.S. outbreak declared over, remote learning continues at all Sudbury-area schools

Public Health Sudbury & Districts declared the outbreak at Walden Public School over on March 22 at 7:30 p.m.

In-person learners will continue to learn remotely as all students in the Sudbury region are learning remotely until further notice.

Individuals who were directed by Public Health to remain in isolation must continue to do so. 

In a letter posted on the Rainbow District School Board's website, the board said they will remain vigilant and continue to monitor the school population closely for any signs of COVID-19. 

The board is reminding families to continue to follow all health and safety protocols at all times. 

  • Screen for COVID-19 daily. Anyone who is sick must stay home. Use the COVID-19 Screening Tool for Children in School and Child Care to monitor for symptoms and follow the direction provided. Note: There are updated isolation requirements.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Sneeze and cough into your sleeve.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay home and isolate if symptoms appear.
  • Practise two-metre physical distancing.
  • Wear a mask in indoor public spaces and outdoors, especially when physical distancing of two metres cannot be maintained.
