NEWS RELEASE
ST. JOSEPH'S GENERAL HOSPITAL ELLIOT LAKE
**********************
St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) would like to advise the public that a COVID-19 outbreak that was declared on the third floor of our Acute Care Hospital by Algoma Public Health is now over.

General visitation restrictions have been lifted and will resume as normal on our Medical/Surgical floor. While we welcome visitors back to the hospital, we want to emphasize the importance of following safety protocols. Visitors are required to always wear a mask while in the hospital and practice good hand hygiene.

We require visitors to self-screen prior to visiting SJGHEL and please do not visit the hospital if you are feeling unwell. It is suggested to take a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) prior to visitation.

We also ask that visitors limit their interactions with other patients and staff as much as possible to minimize the risk of infection. General visitation will recommence between the hospital’s regular visitation hours from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Essential Care Partners (ECP) can continue to visit without restriction of visitation hours.

There is a limit of two visitors per patient including ECPs. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation.

Jeremy Stevenson, CEO
St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake
