Our Village keeps on growing.
Village Media, the local news company behind this community website, has unveiled a revamped, redesigned Oakville News, which it acquired last month.
Relaunched this morning, Oakville News is Village Media’s 23rd owned-and-operated local news source in Ontario, joining neighbouring sites BurlingtonToday, HaltonHillsToday, FlamboroughToday and the soon-to-be-live MiltonToday.
Our roster also includes The Trillium, the largest team of Queen's Park journalists covering provincial politics and policy at the Ontario Legislature.
Oakville News was created more than a decade ago with the goal of providing residents with reliable, independent journalism aimed at strengthening the community, celebrating local achievements and holding the municipal government to account. Village Media is excited to double down on that important mission with expanded, up-to-the-minute coverage of the stories that matter most: the ones that hit closest to home.

The editor of Oakville News is Tyler Collins, a Sheridan College graduate who began writing for the site in 2016, specializing in live event coverage and entertainment. Staff reporter Ben Brown joined the team last year, covering crime, business and every other story that comes his way.
