VIDEO: Closing emergency ward 'wasn't a decision we took lightly'

On latest episode of 'Inside the Village' podcast, CEO of the North Shore Health Network talks about what is forcing temporarily closures of Thessalon's emergency department

The emergency department in Thessalon is closed yet again today — less than a week after the province's ongoing doctor shortage forced a 48-hour shutdown of the facility.

Timothy Vine, CEO of the North Shore Health Network (NSHN), was a guest on the latest episode of Village Media’s Inside the Village podcast.

He explained why his team had no choice but to temporarily close the emergency room doors — and why there’s no guarantee it won’t happen again in the weeks to come.

“It wasn’t a decision that we took lightly or easily because, of course, it puts people at risk and we are here to serve the public,” Vine said on the podcast.
