Two wildfires still active in northeast region

No new fires reported as of today's afternoon

Only two fires remain active in the northeast region as of this afternoon, the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry said in today's release.

No new wildfires have been reported so far.

Fires of note include: 

  • Timmins 1, a 1445-hectare fire, was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, May 10. It ignited two kilometres southeast of Morin Village and half a kilometre north of Barager's Lake. It is under control.
  • Sudbury 11, a 88-hectare fire, was confirmed on May 13. It is located two kilometres northeast of Mink Lake, and it is under control.
