Two local students off to Toronto to represent at OFSAA

Two Grade 9 students from Villa Française des Jeunes will represent the North Shore this weekend at OFSSA Track and Field meet

Two Villa Française des Jeunes students will be representing the North Shore at the provincial Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) event this weekend at York University in Toronto.

Grade 9 students, Chloé Rainville and Ava Young, both qualified for this honour at the Northern Ontario Secondary Schools' Athletics (NOSSA) event which was held in Sault Ste. Marie last Wednesday and Thursday. Chloé Rainville received the gold medal for her discus throw of 20.58 meters and Ava Young qualified for the 300m hurdle race with a time of 55.58 seconds.

Both athletes have honoured their school and the community of Elliot Lake with this achievement. Best of luck to both competitors.
