A few weeks after Elliot Lake City Council approved it, the city has presented a price list for various options the city has made available for those wishing to honour loved ones through Elliot Lake's public naming program.

"The City of Elliot Lake Memorial Bench and Tree Program provides residents the opportunity to purchase a tree or bench or adopt an existing tree or bench in memory of a loved one, to dedicate to a friend or family member, or to commemorate a special event," says a release on the city website.

Prices range from $785 to purchase a tree to $3,600 for a bench. Bench life is rated at 15 years after which you can re-apply for another 15 year period.

A 5-year tree adoption will cost you $375 with a second 5-year term extension for $275.

The city goes on to explain that bench purchase applications received annually between September and April will be installed in June, as weather permits.

Bench and tree adoption applications received between October and April will be installed in May, as weather permits.

For tree purchases plantings are completed in the spring and in the fall annually. Requests for spring plantings must be received by March 1 and for fall plantings by August 1.
