Three new COVID cases confirmed, potential low-risk exposure at Wacky Wings

Algoma Public Health (APH) is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 in the region, all from the Sault Ste. Marie area.

A notice issued today by APH also warns the public of the potential of low-risk exposure at Wacky Wings, 350 Lake St. on Aug. 27 between 7 and 9 p.m.

If you were at this Wacky Wings location, APH advises that you:

  • Self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days from potential exposure
  • Self-isolate immediately if symptoms develop
  • Seek testing if symptoms occur  

All three of the newly confirmed cases announced today are currently self-isolating.

Case number 431 was tested on Aug. 29 and falls under the 'unknown' exposure category.

Cases 432 and 433 were tested on Aug. 30 and were both exposed through close contact.

The Algoma District currently has 16 active cases of COVID-19, including two hospitalizations.
