The Elliot Lake Lions Club will be bringing a minimum donation of $5,430 to the December CTV Lions Children’s Christmas Telethon being aired on CTV Sudbury.

The club picked up a $5,430 donation from Nancy Wyman, owner of the Elliot Lake Tim Hortons franchise. The money was raised from the recent Smile Cookie campaign held here.

The local Lions Club expects to add more money to the donation as the telethon approaches. Last year the local Tim Hortons donated about $3,000 to the Lions Club for the same cause.

The telethon will air on the Sudbury station from 2 to 11 p.m. on Dec. 7 and Lions Club members will make the trek to make the on-air donation.
