Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, MP Carol Hughes is reminding employers that the deadline to apply for Canada Summer Jobs is fast approaching.
Hughes wants to encourage groups and organizations to take advantage of the program that helps employers create summer job opportunities for students.
“These jobs are a boon to employers and the students who fill them,” said Hughes. “For many of these students it will be their first time in the job market and will help build the experience they need going forward.”
Hughes says the program is one that has consistently been good for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing and expects this year will be no different with over $600,000 earmarked for the constituency.
"This program has been really important for our region,” said Hughes. “The team at Service Canada has always been helpful and have gone the extra mile to help employers create positions for students on a number of occasions.”
The deadline for the application period for employers is Feb. 2, 2018.
