Grade 5 and 6 students at École catholique Georges Vanier in Elliot Lake recently had the chance to travel back in time as part of their drama class.
More specifically, they discovered Commedia dell'arte, a form of Italian theatre popular in the 16th century in which masked actors improvise on stage.
After studying the characteristics of the main characters in these comedies, they put their creativity to good use by designing papier-mâché masks to bring their respective characters to life.
The students are real comedians!
