St. Joseph General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) announces with mixed emotions that our CEO, Jeremy Stevenson, has accepted a President and CEO position in Ottawa region to be closer to his aging parents, a decision made with deep consideration, allowing him to fulfill familial obligations while continuing to contribute to the healthcare community.

Under Mr. Stevenson's leadership, SJGHEL has seen remarkable growth and progress, positioning the Hospital, the Manor, and the Oaks on a trajectory of excellence in healthcare delivery. Jeremy expressed his sincere gratitude to the entire SJGHEL community for their dedication and support during his tenure, stating, “As I reflect on my tenure here, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for each one of you. Your unwavering dedication, tireless efforts, and unwavering commitment to excellence have been the driving force behind our collective success. Whether you are a physician, nurse, administrator, support staff member, or volunteer, your contributions have made a lasting impact on the lives of our patients and their families, and for that, I am profoundly grateful.”

While saddened to depart from SJGHEL, Jeremy Stevenson affirms his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition for the hospital and its staff. For that reason, he will remain in his role until the end of the summer, dedicating his efforts to maintaining stability within the organization and upholding the quality of care that patients have come to expect. “I will work closely with the board and executive leadership to ensure a seamless transition process,” stated Jeremy.

"It has been an honour to serve as CEO of SJGHEL, and I am fully dedicated to ensuring that the organization continues to thrive in my absence," Jeremy stated. "While I am sad to bid farewell to such an exceptional team, I am also filled with optimism for the future of SJGHEL. I have every confidence that under the capable leadership of our board of directors, executive team, and all of you, the hospital will continue to thrive and uphold its mission of providing compassionate care and improving the health and well-being of our community."

The Board of Directors at SJGHEL congratulate Mr. Stevenson on his new appointment and extends their heartfelt thanks to Jeremy for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the hospital's success. A search for Jeremy Stevenson's successor will commence promptly to ensure a seamless transition and continuity of the hospital's vision and objectives.
