Snow squalls, flurries expected Wednesday

Snow squall watch issued for:

  • Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake
  • Blind River - Thessalon

Lake effect snow squalls expected Wednesday.

Lake effect flurries and local snow squalls are expected to develop Wednesday morning and persist through the day. Local snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm will be possible by Wednesday evening when the squalls are forecast to move east of the region.

A snow squall warning may be required.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
