Another case of COVID-19 has been discovered at Blind River Public School.

The Algoma District School Board says children in the Grade 3/4 class and the Grade 5/6 classes must isolate until Feb. 16.

Algoma Public Health (APH) recommends those in regular contact with these children stay home as much as possible, only work if they are essential workers and that anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 gets tested.

The board goes on to recommend that all children in the Grade 3/4 class be tested on Feb. 9 or before the end of isolation and those who have been tested be tested again on Feb. 12 or before the end of isolation.

High-risk contacts in the Grade 5/6 class should be tested between Feb. 9 and 12 or before the end of isolation.

APH is currently tracing potential contacts and will notify any they identify as high-risk.

Blind River Public School was closed due to a staff shortage on Thursday, Feb. 4 after a possible exposure on Wednesday became a confirmed case.

The second case was confirmed Saturday.
