East Algoma OPP will present another of their scam seminars next month at the Elliot Lake Renaissance Active Living Centre on Friday, Nov. 19.

The event will bring news about the latest scams being perpetrated in the area, particularly against senior citizens.

"It's always just a good reminder for people," presenter OPP Constable Phil Young said.

"The more knowledge people have on the topic, the less they will fall victim to these ruthless scams."

He adds, "I will be speaking on the latest trending frauds/scams and internet safety again."

Young says with Christmas fast approaching and scammers hard at work developing new ways to take your money, it's time to learn what's trending and how to protect yourself.

The scam seminar will be presented at the Ren Centre at 2 Veterans Way at 1 p.m. on Nov. 19.

Admission is free of charge. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.

For more information, contact Constable Young at 705-848-6975.
