With the snow upon us, many are starting to think about the jolly man in the big red suit: Santa Claus.

The annual Santa Claus parade will be held Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. This year’s theme is “Canada 150.” There is still room available for float entries.

This year’s parade will begin at the Lester B. Pearson Civic Center. The route is as follows:

  • Begins at Lester B. Pearson Civic Center
  • Right on Hillside Drive South
  • Right on Manitoba Road
  • Left on Newfoundland Walk
  • Right on Ontario Avenue
  • Left on Hillside Drive Noth
  • Finishes at Collins Hall

Refreshments of hot chocolate will be available at Collins Hall after the parade. Prizes will be awarded for Best Float.

Volunteers are needed for the Santa Claus Parade committee. These volunteers will help with traffic control as well as giving candy to viewers.

The committee is looking for donations for candy, flatbeds, truck and trailers, generators and monetary donations to help cover the overall expenses, such as bands and awards.
