The annual Blind River Santa Claus parade arrives in Blind River this Saturday, Nov. 12, officially starting at 6:30 p.m.

It is the second year in a row the parade has been organized by volunteers for the Blind River Figure Skating Club which earlier this year hosted the Community Days parade. The club is being assisted by the town which is marking off streets along the route.

Unlike previous years the parade will take a different route along the lake shore and not along Woodward Avenue into the business core due to street construction taking place along the traditional route.

There are currently 30 floats registered and they will be assembled at the Boat Works yard adjacent to the marina before going down Lakeside Avenue and ending at Jetty Street near the Bea Jensen pavilion at Sellers beach.

Children will have an opportunity to meet Santa at the pavilion following the parade.
