Road closure for infrastructure repairs

Public access to the nearby Renaissance Seniors' Centre and Huron Lodge is not affected.

Two downtown roads are closed at the intersection of Manitoba Road and Veterans Way.

City of Elliot Lake crews are onsite excavating.

"Our roads crew is going through town to resurface targeted areas to try to maintain our pavement condition, overall," said Acting Director of Public Works, Bill Goulding. "There were a number of patches in this area, and this work is being done to consolidate them into a single repair to minimize the effects of water and ice on the pavement surface going forward."

"Doing this sort of work is part of our ongoing operations and we do it as staff identifies areas that can benefit from this sort of intervention," Goulding added.

Public access to the nearby Renaissance Seniors' Centre and Huron Lodge is unaffected.
