The City of Elliot Lake is advising the public of further work being done this week on the removal of ammonia from the arena.
The notice reads:
Please Be Aware
Ammonia Removal - Centennial Arena on Friday, March 15
Facilities staff working closely together with an outside contractor, will be at the Centennial Arena Friday, March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The work will involve removing the remaining ammonia in the system and the rooftop unit. During this process there may be some residual smell in the Centennial Arena area. Please obey all safety signage and barriers.
Potentially the ammonia alarms could intermittently ring. If there is an emergency condition staff are trained in procedures.
