The annual Remembrance Day parade begins soon, says the City of Elliot Lake.

"Today we honour those who gave their lives to serve our country. Please join us in taking time today to reflect and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that others may live in peace," a spokesperson for the city posted on social media.

The Royal Canadian Legion will be having its annual Remembrance Day Parade with the placing of wreaths followed by soup and sandwiches at the Legion today at 10:30 a.m.

In addition, city hall as well as most other city facilities will be closed today, Friday, Nov. 11 in recognition of Remembrance Day.

The city dump will remain open and busses will be running.

ElliotLakeToday will have coverage of Remembrance Day ceremonies later today.
