Evan Dantas scored in overtime as the Elliot Lake Red Wings beat the Blind River Beavers 3-2 in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action on Saturday night in Blind River.
Blind River struck first when Joshua Thompson pushed one past Wings netminder Sean Guerin at 14:36 of the opening period.
The Wings responded quickly as Charlie Wesholowski scored his third of the season at 17:23, beating Blind River goaltender Gavin Disano.
The Red Wings took a 2-1 lead in the second period on a goal by Alex Antoine, who redirected a Thomas Dimoulas feed past Disano from in close.
Blind River tied the game in the third when Evan Fraccaro’s wrap-around attempt was stopped by Guerin and picked up by R.J. Dickie, who lifted it over the Elliot Lake netminder, setting the stage for the overtime winner by Dantas,.
It was the second win for the Red Wings on the weekend, with the team beating the Espanola Paper Kings Friday at Centennial Arena 3-2.
Kaden Laverdiere got the Red Wings on the scoresheet early in the opening period, scoring on Paper Kings netminder Jake Marois at 4:14.
Midway through the first, Dimoulas beat Marois to give the team a 2-0 lead.

Brodie Kearns gave the Red Wings the lead for good thanks to a power play goal at 10:04.
With both weekend wins, the Red Wings improved their record to 11-9-0-0 on the season.
The Wings are set to host the Timmins Rock at the Centennial Arena on Nov. 12.
