The Elliot Lake Red Wings went into Pullar Stadium in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Friday night off a road loss to the Blind River Beavers earlier in the week, hoping to improve on their 3-5-0-0 season record.

After the long bus ride, just before game, the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced the match-up had been postponed.

On the Elliot Lake Red Wings website, the team announced it this way.

"The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced that tonight’s contest (Fri. Sept. 30) between the Elliot Lake Red Wings and Soo Eagles at Pullar Stadium has been postponed.

"The cause for the postponement is due to issues with the building’s ice plant that has resulted in the venue being shutdown until further notice.

"A make-up date will be announced by the NOJHL once it is finalized," the Red Wings concluded.

In their only previous meeting with the Soo Michigan Eagles this season, the Red Wings lost to 6-0 in Michigan on Sept.16.

The Red Wings are set to host the French River Rapids at Centennial Arena in Eliot Lake next Friday night at 7 p.m.
