École catholique Georges Vanier (Elliot Lake) is investing a great of energy and resources to offer programs and activities that can equip its students with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills. As part of this engagement to supporting students in their learning and acquisition of STEM skills, grade 5 to 8 students at Georges Vanier recently participated in various Stem-focused workshops.

Grades 5 and 6 students had to surpass themselves in their recent participation in a virtual escape room. The goal of this activity was to unlock all the rooms and amenities of a chalet as quickly as possible by solving puzzles.

Grades 7 and 8 students were able to attend a three-dimensional interactive experiences workshop offered by the University of Ottawa. Using the CoSpaces app, they let their imaginations run wild by creating roller coasters and programming the path of an object.
