Rear-end highway crash causes fire

Nobody was hurt, say police

The Ontario Provincial Police have released more information concerning a two-vehicle collision in Spragge on Monday night. 

At around 2:45 p.m, a vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 17 between Old Mill Road and Yacht Club Road rear-ended a semi-truck, which resulted in a fire.

According to OPP Community Safety Officer Const. Phil Young, no injuries were reported.

”Collision happened at 2:45 p.m and the road was closed until around 4:30 p.m,” he said. “We had no injuries and no fatalities. A vehicle travelling westbound and collided with a semi-truck and started a fire.”

Travellers were held back in traffic until the investigation was completed.
