Public Health Sudbury reports 14 new COVID cases for third day in a row

Public Health Sudbury and Districts announced Sunday there have been another 14 positive COVID-19 tests over the past day. It's the third day in a row that 14 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the region.

The number of active cases is down by two, to 182. Five of those active cases have been identified as variants of concern.

There have now been 1,838 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region since the pandemic began.

Of the new cases reported today, 10 are in Greater Sudbury and three are in the Sudbury District. The health unit didn't indicate with what area the remaining positive case is associated.

Health Sciences North currently has 18 admitted patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 (five in the ICU, and 13 in other units). The hospital also reports that seven patients are under investigation for the virus (one in the ICU, six in other units).
